I can feel it coming
Slowly, my face tightens
The space under my right eye down to my cheek bone starts to numb
Oh please, not today
Little speckles of dark and blurry was takes over my sight
Click. Click.
Why won’t you open?
I push down harder.
Pop! Finally.
Shake once. Shake twice.
Just like a maraca until two perfect red pills fall to my palm ready to go to war inside of my body to protect me from the storming pain
Did I take it in time?
Will I be free of it before it goes the whole way?
The sharp tingling starts in my right hand
Tiny needles quickly stabbing my fingers, my forearm, my elbow, my bicep.
Then, as quickly as it came, my fingers stop tingling
But where is my strength?
Weakness sets in.
Those needles reach my mouth
Is my tongue three times too big for my mouth?
Why can’t I speak right?
Why is my face hot?
Why did those needles make it to my cheek?
Ouch! My eye! Get out!
How did they get behind my eye?
Stop! I can’t see!
Why didn’t those red pills save me?
What did I do to deserve this?
My arm is no longer attacked by those vicious needles. But the weakness hasn’t left.
My face is no longer attacked. But my vision still blues.
Thump
Thump
Thump
Thump
Harder &
Harder &
Harder &
Harder
Close your eyes
Grab your ice
Lay your head down
And just let it go
